Jonavel Asuncion · Integrative Counsellor

Taking the first step towards counselling can sometimes feel difficult. You may be experiencing anxiety, stress, relationship difficulties, emotional challenges or uncertainty about your life. Or perhaps you simply want a space to talk, reflect and gain a better understanding of yourself.

Whatever brings you here, you are welcome.

My approach is grounded in the belief that every individual has a unique story, experiences and needs. I aim to provide a safe, supportive and non-judgemental environment where you can feel heard, understood and accepted.

I believe counselling is not just about addressing difficulties; it is also about discovering your strengths, developing self-awareness, building resilience and creating meaningful changes in your life.

Whether you are looking for support through a difficult period or simply wish to invest in your personal growth, I would welcome the opportunity to work alongside you.

My counselling approach

An Integrative Approach to Counselling

I work integratively, drawing on different therapeutic approaches to meet your individual needs rather than following one model of counselling. My practice incorporates three main therapeutic approaches:

Person-Centred Therapy

This approach places you at the centre of the therapeutic relationship. Through empathy, acceptance and genuine understanding, I aim to create an environment where you feel comfortable exploring your thoughts and feelings without fear of judgement.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT helps you understand the connection between your thoughts, emotions and behaviours. Together, we can identify unhelpful thinking patterns, explore alternative perspectives and develop practical strategies to manage everyday challenges.

Psychodynamic Therapy

This approach explores how past experiences, childhood relationships and unconscious patterns may influence your present emotions, behaviours and relationships. It can help develop a deeper understanding of yourself and recurring patterns in your life.

By integrating these approaches, counselling can be adapted to your circumstances, preferences and therapeutic goals.
